Well, are you excited? I know I am! Yes, that’s right - London Fashion Week will be commencing in just four days! It’s time to raid your wardrobe for your most fashion forward attire and get tipsy on bubbly all week long! As well as going to watch lots of the shows, i’ll also be walking in a couple of them too. I’m looking forward to walking for the Emma Bell show - taking place at VFS on the final day of shows. Keep an eye out for me! I actually walked for her last season. Here’s a reminder….
So life has been hectic for me lately. I’ve been working non-stop and partying a little too hard !;-)
I went to Berlin for a week, for a mixture of work and pleasure. We drank lots of yummy beer….
While I was there, I went to see my favourite band from Brooklyn (Yeasayer) and had a fantastic night hanging out with them after the show. A piece of advice - Never do karaoke with members of a world touring band - their voices are obviously going to be better than yours! haha
Here I am with Chris, lead vocalist and Ira (sooooooo hot) the bassist. - god, i look like a groupie! :O
…and here’s the scene from our karaoke booth….
I also did a shoot with the AMAZING photographer, Thorsten Klapsch whilst there. He has published books for Taschen- here’s one of the shots from our natural shoot…

Once back from Germany, It was time to celebrate my birthday - it was a lot of fun. Thanks to all of my wonderful friends!!
Especially Tommy G, for taking photos and bringing me flowers! mwah!xx
Right now I’m glued to New York Fashion Week! My favourite so far? Diane Von Furstenburg. Pure elegance.

So this month sees the publication of the all black issue of Italian Vogue, as a step foreward in the quest to show more diversity in fashion. I actually feel slightly excited about it and can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. It is indeed a fantastic step they’re taking at Vogue and I hope it opens doors for future fashion faces!
I have had a lots of castings lately and I think I may have lost about 1/2 a stone just by travelling all over London, looking for them! One of them was for the new Ford ad and I found out yesterday, that I’ve been short listed….fingers crossed!
Two recent shoots I’ve enjoyed have been one I did for the Mouillé Swimwear lookbook last week and a fun shoot with David Angel, shooting gothic fashion in the sunshine.
The swimwear shoot was a lot of fun. Great team and designs! Check their website out… mouille-beachwear.com
Here’s a shot from that shoot…
..and on the other shoot, I was wearing the fab designs of Jasper Garvida, who won Project Catwalk earlier this year.
Here’s a sneaky preview shot…
The photographer was the incredible, David Angel. He’s a true inspiration and friend. Check him out….seriously, the man rocks!
Back soon.xx

Hello again lovelies!
Thought it was about time I came back to fill you in on my latest shenanigans!
Busy busy busy as always but loving every minute of it!
The beginning of June saw me shooting with the lovely Stani Boniecki; a Polish photographer who has had his work pulished in Vice Magazine, Adidas campaigns, Dazed and more! We shot a fantastically raw set at various East London locations in the late hours of a Friday night and the early hours of Saturday morning (!)for a Vice Magazine subission and had sooooo much fun doing it!! As we captured the grime of London city, we combined and contrasted it with the fabulous designs by superstar designers Emma Bell (who I did London Fashion Week for in Feb) and Zoe Burrows. Here´s a sneaky preview of the pics (the yummy sparkley jacket I´m wearing is one of Emma Bell’s. Check her stuff out; she rocks!)…

The following week I saw my first efforts on the other side of the industry (i’m working part time as a casting agent for fashion shows) come to fruition… The gorgeous show at London Jewellery Week was such a huge success. The models I picked were looking stunning, while draped in all kinds of luxurious jewels!
Here’s a shot of the show…

Beautiful!
During the past week I also did some more modelling work with the prestigious Central St Martins styling course students. Here are some of the shots taken by the lovely Gene Kiegel…

my fave:

…and apart from the castings, shows, shoots and socialising, I finally moved into my lovely new flat, with my wonderful friends, Adamma and Miguel. House warming party soon! haha..see you there. Bring a bottle!

Ok ok, I know I said I wouldn’t leave it so long again but you will have to cut me some some slack…it has been a hectic few weeks!
I’ve been busy with various jobs, including one for the prestigious Instituto Marongoni graduate show! My outfit was so incredible! - An edible dress….yes, that’s right, fashion that’s good enough to eat! Walking the catwalk in it’s beautiful pastel layers of edible paper, I felt like something out of a Greek play and as guests were invited to eat from my dress at the end of the show, I feared it could end up a tragedy! haha
After the show, there was the obligatory schmoozing with lots of fashion folk, drinking champagne and trying not to overdo it with the canapés!
It was lovely to see some model friends and photographers. I was happy to finally meet the talented Mr Gene Kiegel, who subsequently used me for some work the following week. (it’s all about connections! )
I also had a fun shoot for the young and hip The Cut magazine - so keep your eyes peeled for me in the next issue…I think it’s out this month.
My networking event was a big success…. lots of fashion industry faces were there and I’m pretty sure everyone had a good time. Here I am at the beginning of the evening, having a look through photographer, Nick Delaney’s portfolio. He’s good!
Yesterday, I was shooting the lookbook for superstar designer, Orla Savage. Straight out of one of the world’s leading fashion and design schools (Central St Martins), Orla is set to be a BIG hit! My goodness, the clothes were incredible. She’s a knitwear designer but if you’re picturing neutral coloured, catalogue cardigans, you couldn’t be more wrong! Her collection is all about bright bright colour, vibrance, femininity and… sheep. Back at home in Ireland, she found sheep skulls laying around in the fields and decided to cover them with jewels and use them as headpieces to go with her designs! Seriously, I never thought I’d wear a sheep skull on my head but I guess you can never know what to expect in this industry! ha. I really can’t wait to see those pics. I think they’re going to be stunning!
Here’s a pic of one of her outfits on the catwalk a few weeks ago (modelled by the gorgeous Wei Lin)….
See the horns?—-REAL!! ha
Apart from work, I’ve also been hunting for a new home and I finally think I’ve found one! Look out North London - here comes Miggy!!
woopwoop.
See you soon.xx
ps. here are a couple of recent additions to my portfolio…..you likey?

Remember that tune? Ahhh memories - Aaliyah and Timbaland -
Tuuuune! It reminds me of being in my early teens. Young and free!
Anway, what I mean to say is that I’m so sorry for being a bit rubbish and not writing anything for over a month! It has been a pretty crazy one for me. Working like a dawg and having ‘life issues’ that could challenge the guests on Jerry Springer! lol
I have been busy with some fantastic shoots over the past month. One of which was a shoot for the new, delicious Miller’s Gin. Martin Miller, usually known for his exquisite collection and knowledge of antiques and his beautifully opulent hotels, has now branched into the distilling industry….and I’m glad! We got to sample lots of lovely cocktails, all containing the distinctive gin and needless to say, it was a lot of fun!
Here’s Martin Miller mid-shoot.
Yes, I was laying at his feet…. whilst wearing this…..
It really was a fun shoot. I can’t wait to see the real ad campaign!
****
I”ve also been organising a big fashion industry networking event. It’s the third one I’ve organised and it’s going to be the best! You should come!!
****
Apart from all the fashion frolics, I have become newly single and it’s a very strange feeling - particularly after 3 years in a lovely relationship, with a live-in boyfriend….. but like everything, it died and i’m feeling my way out of this surreal phase.
I promise I won’t leave it so long next time.
See you all at the party!x

Thursday 10th April
It has been a quiet week for me, as I’ve been fighting against the dreaded flu …. but it comes with its perks of being allowed to stay in bed, while your boyfriend cooks chicken stew for you. mmmmm. He made me better!
Thanks to my subscription to Vogue, the new issue came through the letterbox, just as I had run out of dvd’s to watch while sick! haha. This latest issue, sees a feature on supermodel; Natalia Vodianova. I love her face! Such a beauty….and her story is so amazing. She’s a real life Cinderella. From working on an apple stall in Russia, to world famous supermodel and marrying an actual Prince!!
Just look at those eyebrows!! You’ve got to love a bushy brow. I’m forever trying to grow mine out but somehow they never quite make it to that level of bush. ho hum.
Anyway, while we’re on the topic of magazines, I should tell you that you can see me in TWO fashion spreads in DIVA magazine this month. Here’s a little taster…
Right, tonight is going to be my first night out, after being stuck in my flat for a whole week. I’m very much looking forward to it though. I’m going to an F.Lunaire gig in East London. He’s amazing - check him out… F.Lunaire
Ok, that’s all for today.
See you soon.xx

One of the best things about modelling, is the travelling that you get to do. So far I’ve been lucky enough to go to many places, like Bulgaria, New York, Croatia, Switzerland and Trinidad with work….but one part of the world that I’m desperate to see is East and Southeast Asia!
I’m fascinated by the culture, food and of course the fashion!!!
In Japan (namely Tokyo) the young people have devised a whole sub-culture of street fashion - where they mix and match outrageous, colourful pieces and create one-off über styled outfits….

I love it!
Then there are the more traditional fashions of beautiful silk kimono’s, which are just so incredibly elegant and beautiful. I wore one for a shoot once and I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever felt more like a lady!
Japan is also the home of so many iconic fashion designers such as; Rei Kawakubo (founder of Commes des Garcons), Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake….

Now if that’s not a sign that this country knows what it’s doing when it comes to fashion, I don’t know what is!! lol
Then there’s the food….. oh my goodness, where would I be without sushi, sashimi, katsu curry and soy sauce??? I am a LOVER of Japanese foods and just can’t wait to try more and more new dishes but something tells me, I’m not going to get a true representation of most dishes from Wagamammas or Yo!Sushi!

I need to get to Japan!!! - so fingers crossed, maybe work will take me there this year… Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong…..TAKE ME TO ASIA!

So yesterday I was being interviewed for an online magazine - answering the usual questions like; ‘how did you start modelling?’ and ‘what’s the worst experience you’ve encountered?’ - but one of their questions actually grabbed my attention….
‘who are your favourite photographers?’
SO many names and images came into my head at the point….I have soooo many favourites! Photography is really a major interest of mine - it always has been - even before it was part of my career!
I thought i’d share a few of those faves with you guys…
Terry Richardson has become a bit of a celebrity as well as one of the most prolific photographers around today. I just love the way he can capture humour, tragedy, beauty and sex all at the same time! The man’s a genius in my eyes. This image is one of my favourites…

Then of course, there’s Kai Z Feng….he baffles me with his immense talent at such a young age! - (he’s only in his early 20s!!). He has shot campaigns for Burberry and featured in the best fashion mags, including Vogue Italia and Plastique.

The stunning work of French born photographer, Catherine Servel gets my attention every time. She uses the most beautiful colour palettes and you can feel emotion in her work. Truly outstanding…

Those were just a few…the list could go on and on and it’s growing every day, as I discover new creatives all the time!
Leave a comment to say who your favourite is!

My friend Neil is always taking Polaroid snaps when we’re partying - i always love them. I’m sure Polaroids could even make Screech from ‘Saved By The Bell’ look cool.
I’ve just seen these new ones of Marsha and moi on her birthday a few weeks ago….
See you later kids!

Saturday 15th March
Hip hip hooray, it’s Saturday!! Yipeeeeee. I have NO WORK to do! - no castings, shoots or fittings! - It’s 8:45am….I think i’ll lounge around in my pajamas until about 11am, then I need to go out and get a few last bits for the surprise birthday party I’ve organised for my boyfriend tonight. He’s turning 26 tomorrow! Happy Birthday Deedee! mwah.x(hopefully he won’t read this before the party…
Anyway, I’m not going to write about what I’m up to today, as I doubt you’ll be particularly interested in me watching ‘my super sweet sixteen’ and buying balloons..
I thought I’d write about an issue that has been bothering me a little… It’s the issue of celebrities replacing the models.
It’s becoming more and more apparent that the beautiful actresses, singers and even lame reality show stars of today, are slowly replacing models in magazines, on bill boards and on product packaging.
Louis Vuitton has opted to use Scarlet Johanssen for some of their lastest ad campaigns… I mean, you can see why…she’s undeniably beautiful but something seems a little unfair about it. She’s an actress. A successful one. Her job is to get picked for the blockbuster films and wow the audiences with her presence on screen. Meanwhile, it’s the models’ job to get picked for the big designer campaigns like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Balenciaga etc. But it seems more and more frequent that the model doesn’t even get that opportunity anymore - even though it’s his/her job and he/she devotes her/his life to being the best at it!
Versace chose Christina Aguilera….

Louis Vuitton chose Scarlet Johanssen

…and Armani chose David Beckham…

Will it just keep getting worse? - will models eventually only be needed for catalogue work? Dear god, say it isn’t so!!!
